In December 2015, David Doughty joined BSAVA as its Governance Consultant β a role that will help the organisation make the best use of its resources and take full advantage of all opportunities to support our members.
A physicist and engineer by training, David has been involved with a number of businesses, particularly in the IT sector, and was one of the first people in the country to become a Chartered Director. He is a former Vice Chair and governor of Abingdon and Witney College, a past chairman of the Oxfordshire branch of the Institute of Directors and a former Vice-Chair and non-executive director of the Oxfordshire Learning Disability NHS Trust. David has extensive executive and non-executive experience in both the private and public sectors and is also a consultant at board level to multi-national organisations.
The March edition of Companion will feature an interview with David, discussing this new role and his involvement in BSAVA.
